Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) by INDIA- Facts not known by the world...!!!

In between my doctoral studies, I realized that not many people around the globe knows about the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) sent by India including few of the academician itself...!! This post is to enlighten people about the mission sent by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in its very first attempt. Isn't it amazing?? A short animated video describing the Mars Orbiter Mission was posted by NASA on their website....

Some of the interesting facts about the mission:

1: India is the first country in the world to reach to the orbit of the Mars, in its very first attempt. Even NASA was not able to do that!!

2: The cost of the mission (approx 450 crores INR) was less than the Hollywood movie 'Gravity'.

3: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is the fourth space agency to send a successful mission to Mars after ESA (European Space Agency), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Organization) and ROSCOSMOS (Russian Federal Space Agency).
